Disappointed that the U16 Olympiad has reached round 6 before I realised it was taking place - thanks to Lawrence for the link. Could not find any reference on the ECF website. Does the team have a manager/coach in attendance? Good performance in the last round.

I have to give thanks to Neville Belinfante for e-mailing me the link as I was unaware too  I don't have any more information but expect that the team's participation was arranged by Peter Purland and Andrew Martin

Is Kilkenny an Elo-rated event? Another bucket of Elo points for Sam if so.

Presumably they have 3 games on the Saturday. Anyway i think it extremely unlikely that they could entice quite the fantastically strong fields that they do if the tournament was FIDE rated. I've heard that Kilkenny has other attractions which aren't always compatible with optimum performance on the chess board...

8.7 12 Turkey-Turkuaz 2-2 18 England
1 Koksal Ege 1986 : Whitfield Craig M 1960 1-0
2 Burcu Çağatay 1881 : Foster James M 1953 0-1
