Sean Hewitt’s e2e4 FIDE rated events are widely regarded as the best organised and most popular tournaments in England. His latest venture took place in Uxbridge from the 24th to 28th October. There were two sections, the Premier was a nine round international open with GM, IM, WGM and WIM norm possibilities. Entries included Grandmasters Keith Arkell and Aaron Summerscale. There were prizes of £750 first, £500 second, £250 third and £100 fourth as well as several £100 rating prizes.

There was also a junior international which was open to all players born on or after 1st January 1989.

After a fluctuating tournament Aaron Summerscale & Jack Rudd finished 1st= with 7/9 whilst Graeme Buckley defeated overnight leader Keith Arkell to finish 3rd on 6.5. Keith lost to Aaron & Graeme on the last day to finish fourth on 6. Amongst those on 5.5 was 15 year old James Holland who performed at 2273 gaining 35 points.

The overnight leader in the junior event also lost their last two games but in this case Lateefah Messam-Sparks was still able to finish 1st= with 6.5/9 alongside Lithuanian Einora Juciute. There was a four way tie for third place on 6 between Dominic Foord, Adrian Archer-Lock, Charlie Nettleton and Theodore Dias.
