England are represented by Peter Poobalasingam, Vedantha Kumar, Sarah Hegarty and Hannah Dale. Lorin D’Costa is the manager/coach.
After three rounds Peter and Vedantha are both on 1.5/3 in the mens event, their performance ratings so far being 2509 and 2391 respectively.
In the womens event, Sarah and Hannah are both on 1/3, with performance ratings of 2088 and 2057 respectively.

Paul Townsend finished 3rd= on 6.5/9 whilst Tim Adams finished on 5.5.
46th Berks & Bucks Chess Congress 28-30 August
Championship:
Peter Roberson won with 4.5/6 and retained the trophy he won last year. He qualifies for the British Championship next year in Sheffield. Joint second were James Adair, Nicolas Croad, Andrew P Smith, Peter A Williams and Robert Willmoth with 4/6.
Challengers:
Winner was Nigel Fleming with 4.5/6. Joint second were John Wager, Anthony Milnes and Giampiero Amato with 4/6
Diamond Jubilee Congress Paignton 5-11 September

There are numerous events including a FIDE rated Premier, U180, U150, U125 from 5-11. Keith Arkell is the top seed in the Premier and is among the leaders on 2/2. Sadly the junior international had to be cancelled due to lack of entries.
