Bodhana has made a promising start in Cannes, she's currently on 2.5/4 and is gaining 51.2 rating points which means that on live ratings (including Graz) she would be England's number one active female player.

Three boys (Ethan Peng, Faustino Oro and Roman Shogdzhiev) have achieved 2300/FM at nine. Bodhana, at 10.11, seems to be the youngest girl to do so apart from Judit Polgar (who Fide listed as 2320 at age 10.5).

Second to Polgar! "Not bad". I'd curious to know the top five or ten, if Leonard or anyone else has them readily available.

Another win for Bodhana in round 6. Sadly, yet another FM in round 7 makes any norm reliant on rounds 8 & 9 being against WGM/IM/GM opponents. I think that's 13 FMs in her 16 games at Graz & Cannes!

Another win against an FM in round 7 and she plays a GM in round 8 which keeps the various norm chances alive.

Sivanandan won again in round seven (of nine) on Friday evening to take her score to 5/7. She now shares fifth place in the 110-player Cannes Open, just one point behind two joint leaders, one of whom is another young woman, Russia's Anna Shukhman, 16.

She still has a chance for her second women's grandmaster norm (three are needed for the title) after scoring her first at Aix-en-Provence last July, where the 10-year-old broke the record for the youngest ever WGM norm. A tournament performance rating of at least 2400 is needed.

Only six games each round are broadcast live, but Sivanandan's round eight encounter tomorrow Saturday as Black against France's No 13 GM Pierre Laurent-Paoli, 25, is on board four, and will be shown live on lichess, starting at 1pm GMT.

Looks like the organisers were caught on the hop by Bodhana reaching the live boards.

Her name is misspelt, she has no national flag, and the game is the only one of the six not showing clock times.

White's 13 Qg3 is following Royal v Emms. English Ch 2025...

Bodhana lost, maybe not a massive surprise even if disappointing in the context. Does she normally play on until she is mated?

It's not unusual.

Sadly, she ends with yet another FM opponent so no norm chance but another good tournament and plenty of rating points gained.

Despite losing her last two she allegedly gained 118 points, touching 2400 after round 7 before finishing on a live rating of 2386.

102 points according to the FFE results website, for a TPR of 2374.

That would make her live rating 2370.

Thanks for clarifying. I was going by the calculations on https://2700chess.com/women/girls but suspect the tournament website is correct.
