I've been surprised by the lack of interest evinced on this forum by this event. Six of the world's top players are taking part in an all-play-all with a special twist.

Several of the classical games have ended embarrassingly, but this one takes the biscuit.

Seriously, the World Champion, with half an hour on his clock, fails to notice the threat of 30. Qxh7+?

Maybe this from Nakamura yesterday:
It’s very awkward, actually. I’ve played Ding many times over the years, but he definitely doesn’t seem like the same person. [...] At some moment he started bouncing up and down — he was shaking, literally shaking — and it’s very hard in a way because when it seems as though something’s wrong [with your opponent] it’s very hard to not feel bad for them.

If games are drawn they play an armageddon game with the same colours.

Thanks. I was aware of that and had assumed Nick was talking about something else?

Hope Ding is OK.

Ding gave an interview before the start saying he was aware he had performed poorly in recent events, but this time would be better.

Fair to say it has't been so far.
