List of players for the rapid and blitz. Mickey Adam is number one seed in the blitz but from England we also have Nigel Davies, Ezra Kirk, Keith Arkell, Harriet Hunt, David Haydon, Lan Yao, Lorin D'Costa and Malcolm Pein competing in one or both of the events.
Schedule: 11-round Blitz 16 December and 17-18 December 11-round rapid. Round times here.

Tip from the organiser "We have a beautiful, snowy winter in Poland! Remember this and pack warm clothes. During the weekend, the temperature in Katowice will be around -10 degrees Celsius."
Struggling at the moment to see a link for the live games but as last year's was on YouTube I'm guessing that's where it will be.

Re: European Rapid & Blitz 16-18 December 2022 Katowice
I played in the Christmas Rapidplay in Warsaw a couple of times and noted the large number of unrated Polish players who eagerly turned up, (as well as the GMs), but the entry there was "only" about 450 players. Katowice has double that...

I tuned in just as he lost on time in his second round fourth game against Thomas Quilter.Leonard Barden wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:50 amPlay has begun, and Adams has duly beaten his 1800-rated opponent in round 1. Games are live on chess24 https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tourn ... 2022/2/1/1

Adams now on 7/8, but with a 1000+ field there are still around eight players on 100%.
