"Good-faith"?

He's playing and streaming Titled Tuesday. After a shaky start when he blamed his blunders on being distracted by Twitch chat he's recovered to 5.5/7.

I'm pretty sure that chatting on social media wouldn't help my blitz chess either.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 5:23 pmHe's playing and streaming Titled Tuesday. After a shaky start when he blamed his blunders on being distracted by Twitch chat he's recovered to 5.5/7.

Whilst Hans tied 54th with 7 points, what a performance from Freddie Gordon in 8th= on 8.5/11 shortly after his successful Northumbria Masters result.

I don't think they were part of a formal competition but there have been a couple of recent games on chess.com between Kramnik and Hans. In the first, Kramnik lost as white in a mainline Berlin. In a rematch with Hans white, the game commenced 1. e4 f6 2. d4 g5 whereupon Hans resigned.

Tell me if I'm wrong but I'd infer from this that something in game one upset Kramnik, leading him to play the two moves he did in the second game, whereupon Niemann - rather than take the offered mate - in turn demonstrated his displeasure by resigning,Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 9:49 pmI don't think they were part of a formal competition but there have been a couple of recent games on chess.com between Kramnik and Hans. Well if he did play something to upset Kramnik in the first game I can't see what it was apart from the sheer effrontery of Niemann winning with the Berlin. Looked like just a normal blitz game with Kramnik holding a difficult ending till he buckled with 46 Nf3?? but here's the game if anyone wants to check it out:Roger Lancaster wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 1:30 amTell me if I'm wrong but I'd infer from this that something in game one upset Kramnik, leading him to play the two moves he did in the second game, whereupon Niemann - rather than take the offered mate - in turn demonstrated his displeasure by resigning,Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 9:49 pmI don't think they were part of a formal competition but there have been a couple of recent games on chess.com between Kramnik and Hans. Looks pretty childish by Kramnik, shame.

I wonder if they will ever consider the possibility that Niemann is quite good?

Niemann-Nakamura in round 10 of Titled Tuesday was relatively uneventful on the board although their respective streams made for interesting viewing: https://www.chess.com/game/live/8769307 ... ame=hikaru

Another Berlin, although this time Hans was white. Nakamura used the Kd8-c8-b7 plan instead of Kd8-e8 as used by Hans and many other players.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 12:05 amNiemann-Nakamura in round 10 of Titled Tuesday was relatively uneventful on the board

Kramnik seems to have gone on a generalistic rant about how easy it is to cheat online.Kevin Thurlow wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 10:36 amI wonder if they will ever consider the possibility that Niemann is quite good?

Playing chess online is not about winning or losing. it is believing you would have won had the other player not cheated.
