Well, David, 10 to beat!
Becomes less likely with him being rested today.
That's a bit of a concern since David has been the only England player to win a game in the last four rounds!

Mamedyarov (who has Black) is next up against the Gukesh juggernaut (in India 2 vs Azerbaijan).

Still need to check how good Gukesh's win was over Caruana.

The Netherlands vs Iran match may see the winner take clear third place with 2 rounds to go.

Gukesh eventually equalised, roughly, and offered a threefold repetition in a position where neither side had an obvious way to make progress. Caruana proved that assessment by playing on, to his detriment - presumably because no one else looked like winning for USA rather than because he wanted to avoid being defaulted!

Armenia in danger!

(To think, they would have gotten away with it, had it not been for those pesky kids).

Disaster for Gukesh as he slumps to 8.5/9 after a draw with Mamedyarov.

Kiolbasa meanwhile seems unlikely to beat Vaishali in the latter's third consecutive crucial rook ending

"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

scope for error though, surely.

7.5/8 does simplify the need for GM norm calculations somewhat :D

Thankfully no longer true after wins for Luke & Gawain today.

Yes, Loz, 3-1 against a decent Argentinian side. Hopefully, England can improve their position in the last two rounds.

Praggnanandhaa wins a crazy game (worth a look at the video feed of the last 20ish moves) to save a draw for India 2.

Poland beat India so 4 teams on 15 points.
