I hoped the win took Mickey above 2700, but I see he conceded a couple of Bundesliga draws so a bit of work still to do.
Niemann is very impressive. Although the pandemic limited his opportunities, he is still only 18 and I can imagine him getting to the top 20. I had not heard of him until his impressive performance in chess.com's first puzzle competition as an IM. At the time I thought perhaps he was just good at solving quickly, but I definitely underestimated him.

I had the same hope after the March 4NCL but again the Bundesliga cost him a couple of points.Paul Cooksey wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 6:22 pmI hoped the win took Mickey above 2700, but I see he conceded a couple of Bundesliga draws so a bit of work still to do.
