Neilsen had been busy criticising the quality of the website.
I rest my case.

Who do you think the Silicon Valley candidate is, if not Baryshpolets?

Those of us who recall the fiasco of the Conservative Party Election Manifesto 2017 recognise that having that document suppressed would have been the last thing that the Labour Party would have wanted then.

Similarly, having the Dvorkovich campaign website suppressed is not what Baryshpolets and Neilsen would have wanted now.

On the contrary, it is helpful to Dvorkovich, as your comments demonstrate.

I rest my case, unless and until anything to the contrary is proven.

Does anyone seriously think that Baryshpolets' Twitter account would have been suspended if Dvorkovich had complained about it?

Does anyone other than you seriously think that it was Baryshpolets or Neilsen who complained about Dvorkovich's Twitter account?

Indeed, do you really believe that?

Well it would be kind of interesting to know who did, and on what grounds

I mean apart from anything else, if somebody had a gripe with it you'd like them to say so publicly, no?

Unless it was an inside job.

I only learned from your post above that Neilsen had been complaining, so the question is whether he himself complained to the platform, or someone else did, or Twitter just picked up his complaints proactively ( something they do ).

I didn't say that Neilsen had been complaining. I said that he had been criticising the content, That is a different matter.

Not particularly. It is Dvorkovich who is benefitting from the turn of events.

It is not like you to dismiss a conspiracy theory out of hand.

Neilsen asked if anyone knew why the account had been closed. If he were responsible, that would indeed be deep.

Edit: "I would never complain about such. What I do is pointing to hiding ones past." - Neilsen on Twitter

Well not as deep as somebody having their own account closed, I don't think. But we have no evidence for either of these scenarios.

Not a distinction which Twitter would recognise.
Not particularly. It is Dvorkovich who is benefitting from the turn of events.
That's the bit I don't understand, and I doubt that Dvorkovich does either. How does it work?

Thanks, David, some interesting information in that BBC News article (Chess: Russia and Ukraine face off in India amid war), especially the quotes from Nielson. The bit I am quoting is from the end, which isn't really about the elections, but how India are really going to town on the Olympiad:
"Currently, India is working hard to turn the Olympiad into a spectacle.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a torch relay for the event in Mr Dvorkovich's presence. The torch will travel through 75 cities and towns before it arrives in Mahabalipuram.

The Olympiad is returning to Asia after three decades. This is the first time that the tournament and the elections will be held in India."
I thought the piece was quite a fair and well-written one, apparently the author, Susan Ninan: "is an independent Bangalore-based sports writer".

I have been reading about Andrii Baryshpolets, who as well as being a Grandmaster is on the board of directors of the American-Ukrainian Medical Foundation:

https://aumf.org/about/board-of-directo ... ryshpolets

I hadn't heard of the AUMF before. It is not recently established (it was found in 1996) and talks about the 2013 and 2014 events on its history page:

I am personally looking forward to the public debate between the rival candidates for the position of Deputy President, Vishy Anand and Stuart Fancy.
Stuart Fancy is in Milton Keynes this weekend, playing for Hackney in Division 3 of the 4NCL.
