Same happened on chessbomb, so it's presumably a live board issue.

Looking at the position at move 16, black seems to have quite a lot for his pawn. Is it enough? Difficult to say.

Is anyone familiar with Carlsen's idea in the h3 anti-Marshall?
Black is giving up the e pawn in exchange for a Bishop pair and inflicting doubled pawns. Also more or less forcing the queens off.

As far as British games are concerned, I've just found one example, played by Chris Fegan as Black against Adam Hunt in the e2e4 Easter Open at Sunningdale in 2014. There don't seem any examples in this year's TWIC.

(edit) Other examples seem to arise in Under 10 tournaments, where one might assume leaving the e pawn undefended was an oversight. (/edit)

17...Rd8 has apparently been played although the live boards are showing 17...Rc8

Deep Draw 12 says 0.00.

Does anyone know what the "added value" is of the two allegedly assisting David Howell and Jovanka Houska?

I would suggest it's to avoid any suggestions that someone in the audience was able to signal the players.

DO you mean Williams and the Norwegian guy?

I watched the game on the Jon Speelman channel on Lichess. Interesting commentary from a very nice bloke.

I've now inspected the rest of the game and determined that Carlsen will win 3-0 in 13 games.

I disagree, marking this game as a small moral victory for Nepo. Yes, as White he fell into the sort of position where we have come to expect Carlsen to treat other top players as beginners, but that didn't happen.

In the post-match interview, I got the impression that Carlsen was a bit annoyed with himself.

Twofold, the stage area is soundproofed. You can barely hear the audience applauding from the stage. To do that you need a some way the audience can see, hence the glass. The glass is such that you can see through it clearly from the audience side but is very obscured from the stage side (helped with the lighting).

On the board issue, yes we had a problem, the board was switched out overnight.
