Carlsen does it again, and throws the tournament wide open.

Rapport and Nepo opting for an early Armageddon after yesterday's disappointments

Not without a bit of luck, Carlsen gets his fourth win in a row - putting him in pole position for the final round tomorrow.

Presumably this is the last time Nepo and Carlsen meet before the big one, or am I misinformed?

Expect so, can't see them playing in the FIDE Grand Swiss (ends 8 November) or the Euro Teams (11-22 November)

It has been reported as the last classical encounter before the WCC match.
Currently at move 28, where Nepo (with 28.h4) seems to have given Carlsen a hint of a grind. Bet it goes into a rook endgame. Depends whether it is one of the ones that are drawn.

They were due to meet online in the Meltwater Champions Tour Final, but Nepomniachtchi is unable to take up his place.Mick Norris wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:27 pmExpect so, can't see them playing in the FIDE Grand Swiss (ends 8 November) or the Euro Teams (11-22 November)

Carlsen is keeping very busy. He is down to play in the European Club cup, which starts tomorrow.

It didn't, but it was. Carlsen maybe a fraction better in the end position but never likely to take many risks given the tournament standings.Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 5:27 pmIt has been reported as the last classical encounter before the WCC match.
