Obscure International OTB Events Going Ahead in 2021

There is a load provisionally taking place on the North Island of New Zealand according to the latest Calendar. Sadly I've not found any yet on the South Island.
Here they are:
16th January Bay of Plenty Chess Open Invitational, Tauranga, North Island.
30th January-1st February Auckland Anniversary Weekender, Auckland.
6th-8th February Auckland Waitangi Weekender, Auckland.
13th February Hawke's Bay Rapid, Napier, North Island.
27th February Bay of Plenty Rapid, Tauranga, North Island.
20th March Latvian Rapid, Auckland.
10th April Bob Wade Memorial, Auckland.
24th-26th April Auckland ANZAC Weekender, Auckland.
22nd-23rd May Auckland May Weekender, Auckland.
29th May Kapiti Rapid, Paraparaumu, North Island.
23rd-25th October Merv Morrison Memorial, Auckland.

Thanks John. If I win the lottery, I might take you there although I'm planning to go to Portmeirion first.
I've found a tournament closer to home in Australia.

But I suspect you are talking about Portmeirion Australia not Portmeirion North WAles

The South Island will have internal club events - definitely in Christchurch starting early February and in Dunedin, not sure about the other 'bigger' centres.
I am holding monthly junior events in Christchurch as well, getting kids into tournament chess, 16 kids in November, 25 in December, will see how the January one pans out!
Christchurch will also hold a FIDE rated open in early May and the FIDE rated South Islands in October, but still have some details to lock in before these are added to the NZCF calendar.
Dunedin usually holds quarterly rapids as well.
It is pretty much business as usual, just with less visitors from overseas.
Interest in club chess is booming. We are all just holding thumbs that we do not get any community infections which may cause any kind of a lockdown.

Australia's longest running weekend tournament.
Previous winners include Tony Miles, Ian Rogers and David Smerdon.

But claiming norms!! The Chief Arbiter is listed as AI. I assume this means an un-named International Arbiter rather than an artificial intelligence.
