Entries for this tournament are slowly increasing since I posted about it last Thursday. They've now got 24 entries including 7 GMs and 2 IMs.

Less encouragingly, the further information that was going to appear within a few days of 28 September has not. High up my list would be what happens to the 30%, normally non-refundable, deposit on hotel accommodation arranged through the organisers if they had to cancel the event at short notice.

Here is another one I have found.
This is according to the New Zealand Chess Federation website Calendar:

Saturday 21st November
Kapiti Rapid, Paraparaumu.
(Near Wellington), North Island, New Zealand.

Well, New Zealand seems to be fine holding events, often with spectators; the England netball team had to get special permission, though, travel without their head coach, and isolate for 2 weeks on arrival BBC report

Ben Hague must feel very lucky to be living in New Zealand with all the events taking place.
There are loads more planned for next year.

Very nice playing conditions for a junior tournament at the Olympus Sports Hall in the City of Sun in Trebinje, Bosnia & Herzegovina all ready to start. Looks very like the Horntye in Hastings though I suspect the chairs in this one might well do my back in.

Here are two OTB Events taking place before the New Year down under.

20th December Howick Pakuranga Christmas Tournament in Auckland.
According to the Australian Chess Federation website Calendar:
19th-20th December TopChess 2020 Xmas Swiss Weekender in Woolloongabba, Queensland.

Don't forget the annual Australian Allegro Championship (15+2) on Boxing Day in Adelaide. They usually get a good slice of the best players in Australia, plus a number of special guest GM's to play. There are two more taking place in Adelaide.
Here they are:
18th-20th December Chess in Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide (3 afternoons of Chess in outside venue).
22nd December Lidums Christmas Allegro 2020. Adelaide. (Starts at 7.30pm).

I don't think they're crossing state lines at the moment.

We were almost there, but now we are not (Sydney is being quarantined from the rest of the country).
But in a hopeful sign for organisers, almost all the OTB events held post-lockdown in Australia have attracted larger than usual entries (or have reached capacity well in advance of the final entry date).

Welcome to the forum Shaun. Shame about the Sydney area. Good to see OTB events taking place across the country in Adelaide and Canberra. I've noticed a number of Chess Clubs have reopened in Tasmania.
I'm pleased that entries for the tournaments have increased.
