A piece on the match from AFP, a French news agency.
We are trying to increase the prestige of the women's game and also close the pay gap with the men," said Nigel Short

Today we have one of those Slavs that turn into a QGA, this seems to be a theme match for the kind of openings I like and other people find boring.
At a brief glance, today's opening is very interesting to me too

Some drama in game five as Goryachnika wins the exchange for a pawn, Ju having started well but seeming to go astray once her preparation was exhausted.

105 move draw today

Having previously had draws of 97 & 85 moves, it certainly is a tough match

Seems like Goryachkina as the younger player has chosen a deliberate sitzfleisch policy. In at least two of the three marathons she was the one grinding on in a dead position.

Hour and a half and fifteen moves into game nine and it's a pretty lively Nimzowitsch-Larsen with 1 Nf3. (Who got turned over very badly in one of those the other day?)

Quite a fluctuating game; not sure if Ju has enough to win?
