You linked to the Spanish commentary

ganando means "winning" according to Google.

Ah good point, I couldn't be bothered to change to English today. Carlsen struggling against Kuzubov will also be in Spanish then.

Adhwani overcame a disadvantage of a bout 150 Elo points to beat Sjugirov today. Paehtz is a pawn up against Maghsoodloo and British Championship veteran Kolbus appears to be in no danger against Hovhannisyan, who's giving him around 300 points.

Keith fought hard - I hope he loitered in the hall long enough to watch the end of Hess - Ponomariov.

I wondered who were the arbiters.

According to chess-results

Chief Arbiter IA Holowczak, Alex R 418668
Deputy Chief Arbiter IA Eliens, Arno 1040677; IA Srebrnic, Ana 14603314
Arbiter IA Howie, Andrew 2403986; IA Atkinson, Alan 450430; IA Shulman, Alon 2810581; IA Carr, Matthew 423971; IA Clayton, David G 448613; IA Brokko, Margit 4501098

and for the Major and Minor
Chief Arbiter IA Rudd, Jack 405736
Arbiter NA Minor, Harry 403300

There's just the one player from IRI
48 GM Maghsoodloo Parham 2664 ½ 0,5 63
and several from ISR
30 GM Gelfand Boris 2686 ½ 0,5 48
33 GM Rodshtein Maxim 2684 ½ 0,5 51
55 GM Nabaty Tamir 2658 ½ 0 0,5 67
117 GM Boruchovsky Avital 2533 ½ 0,5 103
118 GM Baron Tal 2531 0 0,0 139
133 IM Erenberg Ariel 2463 ½ 0,5 114

It remains to be seen whether the "no pair" flag has been set, or whether the FIDE position on "refusal to play" will be tested.

Rd 2 pairings and no Israeli for Maghsoodloo. Our guys had a bad day yesterday with just a draw for Luke and seven losses. Round 2 will already be better for England with Dahl Baard getting a bye.

Kuzubov ultimately lost on time in an unclear position, must hurt.

Souyma didn't beat Piorun in the end, missing a clear win before the time control and other good chances besides

There is a Major and Minor as well with a few forumites in it so we should be well catered for regarding on the spot reports.
I can't promise to come on here very often, but here goes ...

He shouldn't have done. Players are supposed to leave the playing area as soon as they have finished, as at Olympiads.

Incidentally, there are two playing halls, with Boards 1-34 in one and Boards 35 -77 in the other.
