The World Chess Federation has accepted a bid by the Isle of Man to host the 114-player FIDE Grand Swiss on the Isle of Man from October 25 to November 8, 2021.

FIDE's press release on this which includes the statement "With 164 players in total and a combined prize fund of USD 550,000, the event is set to be the strongest and highest-budgeted swiss tournament ever registered in history. "

"The event is, of course, subject to the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions by mid-2021. At present, Isle of Man’s borders are closed, while local tournaments are being played without restrictions."
