I wondered why it finished quite so abruptly. Is that winning at the end? Can't complain too much even it it is I guess as its hardly any less arbitary than the result of the final armagedon game.

I'm not sure, the commentators were trying things but nothing seemed completely clear. The position had been unpleasant/horrible for large parts of the game so it was a minor miracle that he even got that far. Certainly a dramatic end.

A bit like he did vs Eljanov - somehow getting his pieces on rather odd squares then losing some of them. You'd almost think he was badly out of form, but you don't win quite so many matches in a row then!
