A win in round 6 takes him to 2491 + 7.6 (according to chess-results) with 3 rounds to go. He plays the number one seed tomorrow, I believe that a draw would leave him on 2499.4.

Stephen Dishman (ENG) doing well, with a rating performance of 2407 so far, which includes two draws with GMs, including the number 1 seed (Armenian GM Karen Grigoryan), Matthew Wadworth's opponent in round 7. Stephen gets his third GM opponent in round 7, so if he continues playing well and gets one more titled opponent and opponents with a high enough rating, there looks to be a chance of an IM norm (I think he currently has two IM norms).

It seems that if he beats the 2240 the highest available final round pairing would be a 2446, and even 2-0 then would be insufficient to reach 2500. Can somebody confirm whether this is so?

My friend Alan Collins tells me that Geoffrey and Robert Stern are identical twins and that they even dress in very similar clothes. However Geoffrey's federation is Luxembourg whereas Robert's is England (Pimlico?).
