I hope that Chris Rice's patient play is rewarded by a full point in what seems to be the final game of the Masters.
Edit: Looks like Willson-Goater could be the last to finish.

A bit disappointing to see an Eastern European clean-up and no Brit within shouting distance.

Re: Hastings Masters 2015-16
Does anyone know which game won the best game prize at Hastings? One moment Chris Ward ( the commentator) was full of enthusiasm about the competition, and next I didn't ever see anything announced. I would like to see a correctly played game win the prize, my favourite being Khenkin's R+P v Romanishin. There is both elegance and beauty in such games, but usually it's the crash bang wallop stuff which wins.
Was the winner picked by the commentator or by the audience at home?

Keith,
The winner of the best game was Marcus ter Steeg. I cannot remember who the opponent was.
I believe the prize was decided by Chris Ward.

Re: Hastings Masters 2015-16
By a process of elimination I'm guessing it must be this round 7 effort which was indeed a tactical melee:
John Anderson - ter Steeg
As opposed to Keith's Rd 8 suggestion of this delicately and brilliantly played R+P ending by Khenkin. I'm also guessing that Chris Ward probably didn't look at it much in the commentary room as it wouldn't have been of great interest to the bulk of the people in that room and online who generally looked for chaos, sacrifices and pieces strewn all over the board etc. I suspect its always been that way:
Khenkin-Romanishin

Re: Hastings Masters 2015-16
Thanks, Carl. It's a Sony FDR-AX33 camcorder and takes 4K quality video (which is a step up from HD). It also takes decent hi-res still shots, completely silently, so I was able to carry on shooting unobtrusively throughout the round, without upsetting players or arbiters. Now all I have to do is to learn how to use it properly!
