Having secured back to back Division 3 and Division 2 championships in the Birmingham and District Chess League, Redditch are now looking to strengthen their squad for next season. We will have teams in Division 1, 4 and 6, and we are preferably looking for greater than 170 players to give us a chance against the higher graded teams in the top division. However, as long as we get a couple of players in any of our team squads, it should enable us to keep our Division 6 team going, which we feel is important to ensure we have the option to introduce our newer players to serious chess without having the pressure of needing to win.
Our current grading strengths to give you an idea of where you might fit in:- [Edited with new grades - 26/07/2018]
Division 1:- 150 Upwards
Division 4:- 130 to 150
Division 6:- Up to 130
We also have teams in the Worcester and District Chess League Divisions 1 and 2, and several more players who restrict themselves to playing friendlies on club nights. More information about the club can be found on our website http://redditchchessclub.weebly.com/ or facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RedditchChessClub/

If it helps or hinders your decision in wanting to come and join us, Redditch Chess Club will be moving out of Redditch for next season, as we will be playing our fixtures at Alvechurch Sports & Social Club, Radford Rd, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7LD, https://www.alvechurchsocial.co.uk/
