Re: The Chess Circuit Podcast
Now on our 21st podcast, Ben and Adam discuss chess in the UK before, during and post-pandemic. Will we get back to over the board chess, and if so - when? Is there a future for talented players in the online world?
This is a bonus episode, enjoy!

The kind of chat which makes me pine for the time when exceptional people like Speelman and Nunn could actually consider chess as a viable way to make a living.

Re: The Chess Circuit Podcast
thanks Nick! I know what you mean, and I hope that we can get back to that at some point. In the mean time I am one of the Deputy Chief Arbiters at the hybrid event here - https://www.europechess.org/european-hy ... world-cup/ - and it has been surprisingly engaging!Nick Ivell wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 5:28 pmThe kind of chat which makes me pine for the time when exceptional people like Speelman and Nunn could actually consider chess as a viable way to make a living.

Good luck with the hybrid, Adam.
Anthony is clearly one of those exceptional people, but I doubt he would ever have considered chess as a viable way to make a living. Time has moved on.
I know money isn't everything, but most people aren't going to choose chess if it entails a life of penury. More likely to choose tech and car parking!
