What is the name of this set?

Post by MJMcCready » Fri Apr 17, 2015 3:42 pm

Hi all, when I was young I used to have the set in the picture below but with a different board. I was wondering if it has a name, and where I might find another like it. Does anyone know what its called?

It looks like a designer set. What is it made of? If you use a search engine with the phrase "designer chess set" you may find something similar. When I was young my father arranged for me to play a member of GCHQ who was "trainspotting in Turkey" and had a bullet hole in his leather jacket to prove it. We played with a set similar to that displayed except that the rooks were elephants.
