Free chess game displayer
Hi,
Does anyone know of a basic free chess program I can download and enter some of my games into, to be converted into pgn format? I don’t currently have Fritz or equivalent and need to show someone some of my games.
Much obliged

I would recommend Chessbase light in case you want to upgrade to the commercial version. Comes with Fritz.

i gave up on Chessbase Light (2009) almost immediately after downloading because it won't let you save games unless you purchase an authentication key. (I use Penguin with Houdini, which is also a free download).

I know it's been more than 3 years since this was asked, but I'm surprised nobody mentioned "Arena", which is free and quite nice. (yes, it is a GUI, but can also be used to enter and save games in .pgn format):
