Disturbing king and queen position

'Disturbing king and queen position' reminds me of my game against the exotically initialled E.O.M.C. Teichmann (Erich? Is he still around?) at Southend in 1977. After 8 moves an arbiter (not Jack Speigel) passed by and pointed out that Black had started with the wrong set up! (I posted this four years ago but didn't ask about Erich Teichmann then).

I asked the same question about Teichmann on another thread - we were talking about 1. b4.
He IS still around, though not in a chess sense I think.

I had a game against Mike Yeo in the 4NCL once that started 1.e4 Nf6 2.Nc3 e5 3.f4 d5 4.fxe5 Nxe4 5.Nf3 Bc5 6.Qe2 Bf2+ 7.Kd1 Nxc3+ 8.bxc3 Bc5 9.d4 Be7 10.Qe1.

Thanks for posting those nostalgic photos John. I was present at the centenary Varsity match (got a decent draw against Watson); your photo reminded me of John Cox's amazing barnet at that time.

Yes, have to agree with that - thanks John. The photo taken at Lloyds Bank is a who’s who of English junior chess at the time - I recognise most of the players, but I can’t name them all
