(Hmm. Didn't get university status until 1992.)

Re: Chess history trivia
Can you say which teams were in the final and who won? Was it the 1991-2 season or the 1990-1 season?
1991-2 final is here, but no mention of venue on a quick skim:
https://hampshirechesshistory.co.uk/ham ... n-1991-92/
From here:
https://www.ecfresource.co.uk/results/#ecc
Kent won the 1990-1 final.

The 1990-1991 season, the final was played in early June if memory serves me correctly. All divisions (1,2, major/minor) and counties were in the same hall.

Re: Chess history trivia
It was 22 June 1991 at Aston University, according to the SCUU Bulletin (July 1991, issue 200), page 5).
Looking it up is cheating, right? I'll post anyway, as it is really amazing to see Danny King on board 1 and P.S. Milner-Barry on bottom board.

This was from that day also. The board 1 for Oxfordshire was an American wasn't he?

Mark,
I think you will find that famous day (well to locals anyway) was in 1992.
