Unfortunately I can't track down, online, the Guardian piece to which reference is made. Can anybody show me the puzzle which is under discussion?Recently The Guardian published a puzzle from the book with a commentary by its chess correspondent who conceded that he “did not have the foggiest idea†what the puzzle meant or whether it was taken from the old or new style of chess.

I was reading this piece about Pacioli's recently-discovered work. It includes this passage:
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."
