What was the time control of the Ostend 1905 main tournament?

I thought that in that era it would've been at 30 moves or possibly 36, but one game I'm looking at (Tarrasch-Blackburne) suggests that the players were struggling/repeating as they approached their 40th moves.

I don’t know what the time control of the Ostend 1905 main tournament was but the time control at the Barmen Hauptturnier 1905 (and the All-Russian Championship, St. Petersburg 1906) was 30 moves in two hours followed by 15 moves an hour according to vol 1 of The Life & Games of Akiva Rubinstein by Donaldson and Minev.

The 1905 BCM carries a report on Ostend 1905 listing all the prize winners (it appears they found a reason to give a prize to everyone.) but sadly not the time controls.

Times controls seem to vary in 1905. Janowski - Marshall (1905) was 30 moves in the first two hours, and 15 moves per hour afterwards.https://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=80198

That was indeed the Tarrasch-Blackburne game I was writing about.

I was annotating it for an ebook on Bird's Defence.

I've since moved on to other games.

I asked this question on the relevant page at chessgames.com and got answered by one of the good guys.

"Time limit: The first twenty moves in one hour and twenty minutes; afterwards, fifteen moves per hour. Five games to be played weekly, Wednesday being reserved for playing off of unfinished games."

"Quite a novel time limit has been adopted, the result of which will be to hasten the play during the earlier portion of the game, at least as compared to the regulation at Cambridge Springs, and other tournaments. At Ostend the rule will call for the first twenty moves to be made within an hour and twenty minutes, after which play must be conducted at the rate of fifteen moves each hour."
