Game reconstruction, help needed

Gerard,

The problem is with Black's 18th and 19th moves. I had 18...Rd8 and 19...Bf8. If the rook had moved to e8, White could have just won a piece by exchanging rooks on move 20 and capturing the bishop. However, if 18...Rd8 and 19...Bf8 was played, neither move looks like the faint printed score. Brian.

Thanks, Gerard, I've added the game to the 1931 British Championship file on BritBase. I've plumped for Brian's 18...Rd8 on the grounds that White would have been unlikely to overlook the win of the piece after 18...Re8, but making reference to the illegible scan. I've also linked back to here so that readers may see the scan for themselves.
