I don't recall who gave it to me and from which library it comes from but I certainly didn't find it on-line. I can't claim it doesn't exist there, just that I didn't take it from a website. The player in question was, accoriding to the 1861 census, baptised in St.Albans before becoming a notable player in Luton. Thereafter he went on to become champion of London and 2nd in the British championships in 1905 and 1908. In the trans-atlantic cable matches, he absolutely tore F. Marshall apart once. He used to lose quite badly to Blackburne but then many did!
