Edward Winter's home page gives details of a large on-line chess auction in November at the German auctioneer Klittich, which will include a substantial number of books and periodicals from Winter's own collection:

There is much material of historical interest. The "Autographs and signed items" section contains a number of manuscript items relating to the Dundee player G. B. Fraser:

I was especially interested to see three letters written to Fraser by Howard Staunton during the final months of the latter's life, from his last home at 29 Elgin Road. Staunton was depressed and the character of his handwriting varies from letter to letter according to his demotivated state, but it remains just about legible. (Lots 442 - 444).
