I neglected to mention that fresh material has been added detailing VMs Yorkshire roots and family connections.

Breaking News : We have been informed today by a relative that a relative of Vera Menchik (on her maternal side) is none other than actress, Prunella Scales.

This line is in the Yorkshire based Illingworth family.

I'm fairly confident that this connection has not been been uncovered previously. :D

Another interesting snippet is that Vera was related to the Captain of the RMS Queen Mary, Cyril Gordon Illingworth :D

What about Yorkshire and England all-rounder, Ray Illingworth?

Indeed. It would appear that the Illingworth family was highly successful and influential being based more in Lancashire during the times of VMs grandmother.
