yes and no.

I'm not aware of many books where one of the authors has written the preface.

The Leyton Orient Mug arrived today!

By coincidence also today I entered a 1951 Aitken v Lionel Sharples Penrose game (a draw) from Aitken book 11.
(just waiting on confirmation from John Saunders but it clearly says L.S. Penrose.)

Also in Book 11, an Aitken v J. Penrose game (Aitken won) Aitken adds a wee note saying it is one of his' best ever games.'

That too was played in 1951, actually on the 30th June 1951 - the same day I was born! (and it is a very good game.)

(0n the 27th May 1950 Aiken lost to Jonathan Penrose at Ilford, the following day he lost to Oliver Penrose.)
