Hmm..

Rank Hovis McDougall?
Revista Hispánica Moderna?

Random House Mondadori (as stated there) is probably wrong.

There is a suggestion David Levy might know.

Do you know, John, or are you actually asking?

I do not know and am curious if anyone in this place does.

Psychology In Chess by Krogius was published by them, didn't they go bust ultimately?

Not sure why this came into my mind, but I remember "How to Open a Chess Game" being very interesting and coming from RHM. My copy was lost long ago. Ditto a huge book on the Najdorf.

I had that Najdorf book, in fact it's one of the very few books I've had which I don't any longer, due to it disintegrating. I also have How To Open A Chess Game, but I think mine might be a Sam Sloan reprint.

Why do you say so
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

From that thread:

"Thanks for this. But it sounds wrong to me. First off, Random House Mondadori appears to have started in 2001. R.H.M. Press was around in the 1970s. Second, in Hochberg's article, he makes it clear that R.H.M. Press was an independent venture of Fried's, not an offshoot of a giant like Random House. – Timothy Chow May 22 at 15:00"

That seems to cast sufficient doubt that more is needed.
