For the first time British Schools’ Team Chess Challenge (BTCC) and the English Schools’ Chess Championships (ESCC) are being played in the same venue and also in the same week. What is more the new Primary Schools’ Team Chess Challenge (PTCC) and Junior Schools’ Team Chess Challenge (JTCC) are also being played in parallel with BTCC.
Team Chess Challenges aer on Tuesday 24th June, and ESCC on the following two days.
As a result 400 pupils from 58 schools will be descending on Nottingham University Kings Meadow Campus to play in their spacious ‘Studio 7’, previously a TV studio. Some of the best junior chess players in the country will be taking part, along with others of a range of ability.
