What would be more useful than an awards process for the category Contributing to Chess in the Community would be a dialogue space for those wanting to do it so we can share experiences. Judging by the lack of interest on this forum - something somewhere else is needed - any suggestions? I could set one up (on streetchess.org.uk or chesstables.org.uk) or would a slot in British Chess News be the way to go?


Contribution to Chess in the Community
• Contribution in promoting and developing social chess outside of the club and congress environment; venues within the community – e.g. Chess Centres, Pubs/ Bars, Cafes, Board game clubs and using the internet to bring chess communities together
• Promoting and supporting chess in libraries
• Chess in schools and educational establishments
• Promoting chess in parks and outdoor settings
• Support for chess in prisons and related initiatives

Sounds a great suggestion David - I'll check with ECF to see what already exists / they might sponsor
