Game Fee Update

Post by John Upham » Mon Jul 17, 2023 9:23 am

The following arrived in my INBOX this morning:
Dear Club / League organiser

The guidance for League Game Fee and Congress Pay to Play Fee has been updated. It covers all congresses submitted for rating from 1st July, and all club and winter league games for the 2023/2024 season.

The main substantive change is the inclusion of a policy on the payment of game fee/P2P fee invoices. Detailed rules for charging of Game Fee for summer leagues in 2024 are still under consideration.

The former guidance and the revised guidance can both be accessed from the ECF website. Any queries in the first instance can be directed to the Director of Membership at [email protected].

Very best

League and club organisers should check that membership is current on 30 June 2024 (or for a summer league, the date on which the last game is scheduled to be played); a membership taken out on for example 20 June 2023 will for most of the year show as current, but will expire on 1 June 2024.
This confirms the member/not a member effect. Someone with Gold or Silver membership would be a member in Congresses all the way until 31st May 2024, but not a member for league, club and county play over the same period, unless they renew.
