David Sedgwick health update

Post by LawrenceCooper » Wed Jan 11, 2023 10:33 pm

"David Sedgwick wishes it to be known he has suffered a stroke. There is no paralysis or other traumatic damage but he is unlikely to be able to respond to emails or messages for at least the next 2 weeks."

The wording is David's. He is currently in hospital.

Strokes are not fun (as I know), but if he can get a message out, that's positive.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Dreadful news. Wishing David all the best for a speedy recovery. I’m sure that goes for everyone here and all those who work with him at Hastings and the Southern Counties Chess Union. Indeed chess players, organisers and arbiters everywhere.

I have already written to David, wishing him well.
I know so many people who have had strokes and the effects vary so much. It was a good sign that he was able to communicate the state of his health.
