The meeting has started but audio quality for external Zoom users is awful.

Too much mumbling apart from Tim W. who is very clear.
Tim has a mic and I don’t

You were fine John.

Malcolm talking at length - asking for more support from chess trust and JR trust in supporting new juniors and running tournaments.

https://www.englishchess.org.uk/wp-cont ... ebsite.pdf includes as point 11 Mike Truran creating a working group to look at the membership scheme. That working group referred to a few times.

The chess growth nexus hopeful of improvements and simplifications. The finance director cautioning unlikely to be easy and obvious solutions but that he welcomes the review.

An interesting question has been asked by TPW of the candidates for NED...

Spill the beans then! Enforced rest due to heavy cold and tennis elbow (ice is wonderful!) is making me curious.

I have to admit I am attending zoom with frozen peas pressed against my swollen jar.

Tim asked if execs should be allowed to influence elections for non-execs. Stephen Greep clearly expected the question and said it would not influence him in office, which I hope and expect to be true.

I got this pack from Amazon with straps. Can either use heated or cold. Feels amazing! Interesting question.

The most contentious issue of the AGM is now being discussed:

Should the AGM be

1. Only physical
2. Only Zoom
3. A hybrid meeting

and combined with that could it occur in Manchester?

A vigorous debate is on-going.

This could go on for some time.
