This is an excellent initiative.Dear chess colleagues
I’m emailing you to ask if you would, in your capacity as a league or county official, be willing to contact your local clubs and ask them to review the information shown for them on the ECF Clubfinder map? The ECF Clubfinder map is a very useful facility for players looking for clubs when, for example, wanting to try out playing over the board after a diet of online chess during lockdown, moving to a new area, or looking for suitable clubs for their children. So I hope you will agree that clubs have an enlightened self-interest in having up-to date and accurate information shown on it!
Your clubs can find the Clubfinder map here - https://ecf.azolve.com/clubfinder.htm. If any changes need to be made all the clubs need to do is to complete the Add/Amend your Club form here - https://britchess.wufoo.com/forms/w1i1j1we007tesu/
While writing, may I also mention the ECF’s new Chess Clubs page in the Communities menu of the ECF website, which contains (among other topics of interest) latest Covid-19 guidance and articles, and will shortly contain articles about clubs’ experiences with re-opening for over-the-board chess. Again, please share this with your clubs if you can. The link is here - https://www.englishchess.org.uk/clubs-home-page/
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Kind regards
