ECF Board Playing strength

Following the AGM the Board team likely to be:
Ashton 2440
Pein 2328
Willmoth 2200
Truran 2148
Fegan 2103
Lawson 2013
Regan 1983
Woodhouse 1893
Milewska 1825
Clissold 1795
Holowczak 1638
(Plus either Wall 2260 or Towers 1855)
Which struck me as possibly the strongest ever 8 board team with reserves. Very much stronger than a few years ago, I could speculate, but I don't really know why.

The other mini-milestone looks to be as the first board in the shortish ECF history with a former Olympiad player in the mix, provided one disregards Nigel as not strictly speaking a director and Olympiad match captains as not players.
In the days of the BCF there were a lot more director posts and the names of Alexander, Milner-Barry and Keene spring to mind as former Olympiad players who were also later BCF Directors. Others no doubt as well.
The other point that struck me is that apart from the tactfully named "Reserves", there aren't people with a higher renown as arbiters/organisers than as players.

Unless anybody is suggesting the Women's Olympiad doesn't count for some reason - Natasha Regan.

Oh yes. sorry I am unused to Natasha being called "Regan"!
I remember a report of her preparing the Kings Gambit in an Olympiad, back in the 1990s, and showing her preparation (as White) in advance. John Nunn would apparently wonder over, and (not realising this was "White" preparation) would say how much he liked Balck's position!
