The ECF rating database has been updated with ratings labelled Oct 1, but it is unclear if these are newly calculated as mine has stayed at 1998 since Aug 1
Your ECF rating will not have changed unless either:

1. You have played rated OTB chess under ECF auspices since August 1;

or:

2. You applied in advance to have your overseas games ECF rated.
As Roger points out, a player's Elo rating will not change unless affected by activity. Also I can confirm that Games Played Abroad is suspended.

So one's rating will not change unless:

1. You have played rated OTB since 1st July 2020, and the result has been submitted in the last month or

2. A late reported or amended result from an earlier period connected to you or one of your opponents has been submitted in the month.

The former will affect your original rating for the month; the latter the revised rating for the month (and possibly for earlier months).

Yes, but since an ECF rating covers the previous 12 months, I would have thought most people's rating would have changed from Aug 1 to Sep 1 to Oct 1, not least because of the 2019 British
The list is displaying cumulative change between the 1 July grade, converted to a rating, and 1 October rating.
I find it hard to believe my rating stayed at exactly 1998 since from Jul 1 to Sep 30 I played at Bridlington (maybe not ECF graded), Telford, the British, Northumbria 'Paignton', Bradford and Crewe as well as various league games.
1 July 2020 to 1 October 2020.

Yes, but I understood a rating covered games played in the last 12 months, as a grade used to do. Roger de Coverly corrected me

The list gives a clue about how much OTB chess is currently being played. There are 48 players whose rating has gone up. I don't think there's any way of determining how many players' ratings have gone down, or remained unchanged despite playing some games.

Without going through the details of every player, so the list below may not be complete, there has been OTB activity in:
  • Thanet
  • Huddersfield
  • Coulsdon Chess Fellowship
  • Bognor and Arun
  • Wanstead and Woodford
  • Isle of Man
Hastings can be added to that list, but they may not have had any ECF rated activity.

Not for long, I hope.

I appreciate that a lot of work has gone into getting the new system up and running and that not everything will be right on Day 1.

However, I make no apology of taking a dim view of membership benefits being withdrawn without notice.

Please would you give an estimate as to when Platinum and Gold members may expect to have this benefit restored.

Nothing from Barrow as yet then, I would expect that to change come the next monthly list.
