ECF Finance Meeting

I know the ECF Finance meeting should have been this month and i know that the chair of the Council has email people
i know there are some ideas going around about when the next meeting is etc, but i do think maybe we should look at Zoom and for the council to really look at this.
also i know with the voting rights, any ideas would be great etc
just wonder what people views were?

Is ECF membership free for ALL juniors at the moment. (I know that you can get free junior silver membership if you have never been a member of the ECF before anyway.)

The Question I had was that How should the ECF have a meeting online with Zoom or something like that as I think that would be good for the rep and also good to get your points
look at what the MP's are doing and the Cobra meetings etc

allowance of £10,000 per MP to cover the extra costs. I doubt the ECF could afford 10,000 pence per delegate.

it just that an e-mail came from the council and I think that it is a possible as I think the council does meet over the phone

I would hope that the ECF continue their free junior silver membership for any junior that has not been a previous member of the ECF when chess resumes, however hard the finances of the ECF will be hit. It is a useful initiative (one that I have used myself in the past) and obviously can lead to long term gain as regarding the finance anyway.
That is the only thing I suggest anyone at the meeting says.

I completely agree with David Blower, it is a great initiative. Long may it continue. As a result it has encouraged Juniors to join our club and play for us in the local league.

i hope that the ECF will do some Finance meeting online.
Also wonder if the Finances will changed due to the Coronavirus as i have had a few Silver members messaged me asked what the ecf is doing about this?

Finance Council Chair, Statement -
In light of the current coronavirus situation it is clear that it would have been inappropriate to hold Finance Council in April. The Board and myself, with the advice of the Chair of Governance, will continue to monitor the position. By the end of August 2020 we will either (a) have held Finance Council if circumstances allow or (b) have proposed to Council a written resolution dealing with approval of the budget, the setting of membership fees and the other matters that require to be dealt with. In the coming months I shall use the new forum to keep members of Council updated and the forum will also continue to be a means for Council Members to raise and discuss matters of interest.

Speculation as to when the BCF had a meeting in Peterborough is more typical.
I'm a member, because I decided I had to be to represent Berkshire competently. But I very much dislike being dragged into the secretive approach the board takes to running the ECF.
