Still nobody to comment any games?
Last year attracted more interest. Maybe because it's not the appropriate section?

Well, there was this game, which attracted a bit of comment elsewhere:

The leader isn't a name I remember having seen before

Account closed means he is out of the event?

Re: British Championship Congress 2021
Perhaps he is appealing the decision. The draw for the last round has been delayed, in comparison with previous rounds. Also, at least one other player has been allowed to continue, having violated chess.com's Fair Play policy during the event, simply by using a second account.

Except in his case, where he is shown as "not paired".

It’s good to see Danny and Simon raising the issue to a wider audience on Twitter, chiefly why aren’t players being protected from cheats and why aren’t there any proper deterrents and bans for future events being handed out?

You never get answers of course, but why an earth was a prominent England junior international banned on one account at the time of the qualifiers and allowed to continue on an a secondary account? It’s a bit baffling! There just seems to be so many smart cheaters operating happily in the off-camera qualifiers and non championship events and not getting caught.

If a leader is removed from a tournament before it completes for "violating terms and conditions", what should be done with his or her previous results? Should they stand or should they be reversed? Whatever is decided will affect the final round pairings and possibly also the prize winners.

Playing for Swansea University, so Welsh sources may have more records.

He played no rated games in Wales around that time. Our archives go back to 2008.

Maybe because they're a prominent England junior international?

That is definitely one possibility. Strings pulled behind the scenes. Point 4 of the rules seemed pretty clear on the point that if a players gets a chess.com ban during the tournament that they get excluded.Kevin Thurlow wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 1:23 pm"You never get answers of course, but why an earth was a prominent England junior international banned on one account at the time of the qualifiers and allowed to continue on an a secondary account?
