The Holloid Plastic update is now available from the ECF website.

HP did produce some pieces over the last weekend, and is scheduled to manufacture more this weekend. CEM has a conference call with HP tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, hopefully there will be more news then.

Thanks for keeping us informed, it isn't many in sets in the month since Stockton-on-Tees but at least there is some movement

More information from the CEO is to follow after the conference call you mentioned is there?

Hi Carl,

Yes, I should know more on Monday after CEM has spoken with Holloid's. I am also due a report from the warehouse manager updating the number of chess pieces produced over this weekend. All going well and to schedule (fingers crossed) there should be more sets leaving Holloid's in the next few weeks once I have had them packed for shipping.

Another 12 boxes left Holloid's today, with a volunteer distributing in the Surrey area.
HP have said they aim to produce more pieces this afternoon.

That's all I have!

Kirstie,

It is very pleasing to see more free sets going out and more being produced. :D

All of this is great for the children and good for CoM of course. :D

Will the ECF Office have enough resources to cope with HPs projected production schedule leading up to the ECF AGM?

Will you need some more helpers over the next few months?

John,

You are right, it is very pleasing to see movement of sets into schools, and of more pieces being produced.

My contract expires at the beginning of June so I am unable to comment on the resources that will be available from the office. I have made arrangements with 35 LEA's already for distribution of sets to schools, and this is all documented. So as the ground work has already been done I see no reason why the office would not cope with Holloid's projected production schedule, giving them a head start on making arrangements for the remaining 150 (approx) LEA's.

I wish both CFS and CoM much success for the future.

That sounds somewhat like a goodbye Kirstie?

Is the project now dead?

I do not believe the project is dead yet. I believe there is time for HP to produce the 7,000 boxes by the end of July if they dedicate a machine to producing pieces as they have stated they plan to do. This would be fantastic, and with the summer holidays then being present, will give ample time for the pieces to be packed and scheduled for delivery to LEA's, ready for distribution in September continuing till the end of the year.

My contract was only for one year, and that year is now coming to an end. With the financial position of the ECF and the lack of administrative tasks currently required for CFS, there is no requirement for a CFS administrator at present. I have mainly been working on CoM for the last couple of months.

This could of course all change in a month or two, which I hope it does. CoM is growing daily, and that is great to see. CFS is still accepting applications to the project, which reinforces that all parties are still working towards making this project successful, albeit behind schedule.

There has been an ECF Office handover today of CfS administration from Kirstie Lapworth to Andrew Walker.

On a serious note, my dealings with both Kirstie and Andrew have led me to believe that both are excellent employees. It's not Kirstie's fault at all that there has been little doing on the CfS. For that, others should have a good look at themselves.

It's the first of June and all is quiet on this one, is there anything to report anyone?
