You obviously haven't been in the same RPG groups as me. :D

IM Jack Rudd wrote:I think my game against Gosling is a swindle by Jonathan's definition, come to think of it. 1...Nf4 not only sets up my own threat, but it undefends f8 - forcing me to meet 2.Qd6+ with 2...Ke8 - and it also undefends e7, tempting white into the suicidal 3.Bd8??. If I hadn't gone to f4 with the knight, white wouldn't have been able to see the quick finish that was apparently on.
I may have missed it somewhere, but is the game by Jack against Gosling around here somewhere, or is it on another site? Jack, do you have the moves available? Ah, OK, I did what I should have done first, either read Jonathan Rogers' Kingpin article, or searched here. I found this:

Well, here's a truly monumental effort in this category.

That's a really big comeback, it seemed like you always managed to have some tactics up your sleeve no matter how winning the position was for white
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Who needs OTB chess when you can have this?

That come-back from early hopeless material disadvantage reminds me of this embarrassment, also from chess.com but this time a correspondence ("daily") game. Obviously I'm not in Jack Rudd's class by any stretch, but my opponent here was rated over 2300 and I was delighted to emerge from the opening a rook for 2 pawns up after a simple blunder from my opponent. Delighted for a while, anyway.

Possibly my best swindle was against Terry Chapman at the British. Southport 83 or Edinburgh 85, I forget which.

Diligent diggers may be able to unearth it!

This would seem to be a critical position

Black to play and retain an advantage.
