Their status is not legally disputed, in fact it is legally settled and Israel has been judged to be acting illegally.

FIDE has published the August 2022 grades.
Top of the men's list for Israel is Boris Gelfand at number 77 with a grade of 2668.
The Women's list has Marsel Efroimski at number 25 with a grade of 2461.
The Top 100 Juniors has four from Israel:
33. Semyon Lomasov 2541
85. Ido Gorshtein 2471
88. Yair Parkhov 2469
100. Eytan Razen 2456
