The forum may have an idea why, but equally it may well be totally mistaken.

Nigel is currently doing his trademark globetrotting and a few days ago was in Lesotho. He is still posting on FB and Insta and had this to say on his most recent post.
"...Not as fascistic as Xcrement - Elon Musk's abomination - mind you. I do hope he loses all of his $44billion "investment", as quickly as possible. He is doing a fine job of attaining this goal."
I think you can read between the lines as to why he's not on Twitter any longer and given what Musk has been ranting lately he's clearly not on his own with these sentiments.
