"Actually pretty good customer service... I give Deborah 8.5/10 "

Any news on the score Deborah gave...
I once knew a Debbie who enjoyed Dallas for some reason.

I was just quoting him, now I've looked it up, I would agree that lowers the score. Debra is always helpful.

So tempted to do that Congress, if the missus will let me. If my son wants to play it is my excuse.

Funnily enough Alan pinged me on FB earlier.

Perhaps he has returned to haunt us with his alter ego?

You would be very welcome

It was too good an excuse not to publicise it

Go do it. Jacob is deciding with his friend on the Congress or the junior rapidplay...

The Open section of the Manchester Congress looks to be FIDE rated and the ratings listed give FIDE as the source. A handful of players in this section show as unrated - likely because they haven't previously played FIDE rated chess.

To play in a FIDE rated event you have to have gold membership which the YCA President is listed as having on the ECF database.

I might just give this congress a whirl myself ...

It is tempting but there may be cricket on the Sunday, which lures the boy away. It may just be the Friday rapidplay. Or I wangle it so I can play the Congress (unlikely!)...
