Yes, it has to be said that games played between the lower boards of weaker teams at women's olympiads aren't of the highest quality. However I imagine that, if John consistently lost games in 5 moves or thereabouts, he'd just as soon they weren't highlighted and I imagine this lady must feel much the same.

One game was apparently resigned, or at least registered as lost, after 1.e4 e5 2.f3 Bc5 3.Nh3 Qh4+.

I've asked my coach for help with this line.

Maybe they just didn't feel like playing that day?

To me it looks like a deliberate attempt to play badly; possibly because the player concerned has managed to bag a free holiday through the national chess team and wants to get back to it without being stuck at a chessboard any longer than they have to be. Presumably the Seychelles couldn't get away with the player simply not turning up.

There are several possible explanations. It might be that the nation is generally short of female chess players so they need to fill the board so those players they have can play. However there is something that smacks of corruption - and I don't think FIDE will do anything as it's not really worth losing the Seychelles vote over.

Let's be charitable and go with that. It seems to be her only tournament ever. Is this the person?
